Hurricane Michael Impact
On Wednesday, October 10th, the strongest storm to hit the continental US since Hurricane Andrew, made landfall in Florida’s Panhandle. As a Category 4, almost Category 5 hurricane, Michael decimated entire towns. Cities such as Mexico Beach were almost totally wiped out.
According to recent reports, the cost of damage from Hurricane Michael is projected to reach $4.5 billion.
The images of destruction that came out of the Panhandle were stunning and begged the question – how can damage like this be avoided next time?
