The Miami-Dade High Velocity Hurricane Zone (HVHZ) requires deflection spacing on all hurricane protection products. Any projects not governed by the HVHZ requirements do not require it. However, many clients, both residential and commercial, still choose to have their projects installed to the HVHZ standards.
Deflection spacing is determined by the type of material being used and the size of the opening.
